Major R&D Milestone

R&D center of KSM
 

KSM's relentless research and development of Mechanical Seal/Metal Bellows/Silicon Carbide have resulted in reinforcement of company's competitive strengths. We were able to acquire many original design and manufacturing technologies on various products by executing government contracts. Adaptation of new and improved process increased the company capability. From many small and large projects we cultivated concrete application capabilities and engineering minds to fruit more completeness on design and manufacture of Mechanical Seal/Metal Bellows/Silicon Carbide products.

KSM contributed to the Korean industry development by exporting and localizing manufacture of core mechanical element products and by executing several essential researches as shown below.

- 1990: Development of welded metal bellows. (a contract with Ministry of Science and Technology)
- 1992: Development of Silicon Carbide material. (a contract with Ministry of Commerce)
- 2002: Development of RCP Seal. (a contract with Ministry of Science and Technology)
- 2003: High performance non-contact type mechanical seal under development (a contract with Ministry of Science and Technology)
